The Philippine Statistics Authority launched its PhilSys Fixed Registration Center in Calbayog City on June 25, 2021 at the Calbayog City Convention Center located in Brgy. Capoocan. This is in line with PSA’s bid to further extend the registration availability of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) or National ID to interested registrants in the area.

Among those who attended the launch were PSA Region 8 Director Wilma Perante, Chief Statistical Specialist Riza Moraleta, City Administrator Charito Gonzaga, the Local Civil Registry Office headed by LCR Officer Leonor Aquino, and the rest of the PRT personnel.

The registration center would serve as a counter for the “STEP 2” process of the PhilSys, focused on the validation of supporting documents and collection of registrants’ biometric information, including fingerprint biometrics, iris scans and face photographs.

Another fixed registration center has also been established at the Multi-purpose Hall in Brgy. Oquendo to make it easier for those outside the city to register for the PhilSys.

Starting June 25, interested registrants may now undergo STEP 2 of the registration process through the newly launched centers from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm. The center will be able to accommodate registrations up to December of this year (2021).
