Mayor Diego P. Rivera approved the initiation of the Asphalt Overlay Project to be undertaken by the City Engineering Office headed by Engr. Ashley Albana.

The project aims to apply a layer of asphalt on the commonly used streets in the city proper to create smoother roads for vehicles and pedestrians alike. This is in conjunction with the LGU’s project to repair and expand the canal systems to prevent flooding and improve the flow of water during rainy seasons.

Set to be completed this July, the City Engineering Office hopes to finish the project at the soonest time to avoid the disruption of the flow of traffic in the busy streets of Calbayog.
