The local government of Calbayog, headed by Mayor Diego P. Rivera awarded certificates of commendation and recognition to Calbayog City Chief of Police Lt. Col. Rodolfo Albotra and the rest of PNP Calbayog last July 16, 2021 for their various accomplishments and successful operations against illegal drugs and criminality in the city. Congressman Edgar Mary Sarmiento and Councilor Charlie Conejos, who represented the Sangguniang Panlungsod, were also present during the ceremony held at the City Hall Stage, Calbayog City Hall Coumpound.

The ceremony was also the venue of the official turn over of four (4) new police patrol vehicles to be added to PNP Calbayog’s vehicle fleet. The LGU has previously ordered a number of patrol vehicles under the administration of former Mayor Ronaldo Aquino, half of which had been turned over to the local PNP earlier this year. This new batch would be the completion of delivery for the ordered vehicles to be donated to thelocal police station. Mayor Rivera also pledged to equip our police personnel with additional motorcycle units to help with their patrol activities and operations.

Mayor Rivera provided a cash incentive of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (P100,000) in recognition of the achievements of Lt. Col. Albotra’s team. At the same time, Congressman Edgar Mary Sarmiento handed over a check worth Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (P250,000), thanking them for their unbiased and invaluable work. Councilor Charlie Conejos, on behalf of the members of Sangguniang Panlungsod, presented a resolution signed by the SP recognizing PNP Calbayog for their accomplishments and continued service.

Tourism Officer Ronald Ricafort further announced the partnership between the Tourism Office and PNP Calbayog where Lt. Col. Albotra would serve as one of Calbayog City’s “Champion of Tourism”.

The LGU of Calbayog recognized the need to work together with our PNP to achieve a more peaceful, safer and progressive city not only for all Calbayognons, but to everyone who considers Calbayog as their home.
